Can scanned or existing PDF text be rewritten online?
Adding new visible text to a page is different from selecting and rewriting text already stored inside the PDF.
Why existing text is different
PDF pages store positioned objects rather than a normal editable paragraph flow. Fonts may be embedded or subsetted, words may be split into separate objects, and scanned pages may contain no text objects at all.
Edit PDF therefore places new material above the existing page. A correction box can visually cover old wording and add replacement-looking text, but it does not remove the underlying source object and should not be described as true text replacement or redaction.
Choose the workflow by the required result
Use Edit PDF for an added date, name, note, image, highlight, drawing, or shape. Use PDF to Word when you need a best-effort editable document, recognizing that layout may change. Use Redact PDF only within its verified exact selectable-text matching boundary when sensitive content must be handled.
Choose another source when the wording must truly change
If the original Word, PowerPoint, or design file exists, edit that source and export a new PDF. When only the PDF exists, text extraction or PDF to Word may recover reusable content, but layout repair is likely. A visual overlay can label a correction without changing the stored words underneath.

Can Edit PDF delete a word from the original page?
No. The tool adds overlays and does not delete or reflow existing text objects.
Can I cover old text and type something new above it?
You can add visible overlays, but the underlying source text is not rewritten. Do not treat that as secure redaction.
What happens to an existing digital signature after editing?
Saving any edit changes the document and invalidates an existing cryptographic signature.
