Choose the pages and sequence
Number all pages or the supported page range, and choose the starting value or page-numbering offset when the tool provides it.
Control the label and appearance
Choose plain numbering or Page X of Y, add an optional prefix, and set the position, font size, color, and opacity.

Good to know
- Page ranges must be entered in ascending order, and skipped pages do not advance the sequence.
- Position numbers away from existing headers, footers, signatures, or other important content.
- Plain numbering, an optional prefix, and Page X of Y are supported; Roman numerals are not.

Can I choose the starting page number?
Yes. Choose a starting number from 0 to 999999.
Can I use “Page X of Y” or a prefix?
Yes. Choose plain numbering or Page X of Y and add an optional prefix of up to 40 characters.
Can I change the number position, size, color, or opacity?
Yes. Choose one of six header or footer positions, Helvetica from 8 to 48 points, a hex color, and opacity from 10% to 100%.
Will page numbers cover existing PDF text?
They can if placed over existing content. The tool does not show a numbered-output preview, so open the downloaded PDF and inspect the placement.
Are my files uploaded?
