How to Add a Horizontal Highlight Band to a PDF Page
PDFKaka's annotation control marks a horizontal area on one page; it does not select individual words like a desktop text highlighter.
Position the page-level highlight band
- Open the PDF and choose the page that contains the passage or area.
- Add an optional note when the reason for the mark is not obvious.
- Move the horizontal band until it covers the intended line region.
- Export the PDF and check that the band does not obscure nearby content.
When this control is the wrong fit
Use another annotation editor when you need to drag across exact words, highlight irregular shapes, draw freehand, or mark many pages in one review session. The title and instructions should describe the supported band rather than promise a general PDF highlighter.
Know what the band represents
The band is a visible overlay at a chosen vertical position. It does not follow selected words, detect sentence boundaries, or create a semantic text highlight. Check the exported page at normal zoom, especially when the source uses narrow columns, rotated text, or tightly spaced lines.

Can I select exact words to highlight?
No. The current control places a fixed horizontal band rather than selecting a text range.
Can the highlight span several pages?
One selected page is handled per job. The tool is not a multi-page annotation workspace.
Does highlighting rewrite the PDF text?
No. It adds a visible annotation mark while leaving the existing source text unchanged.
