How to Add Page Numbers to a PDF Online

Add the page numbers

  1. Set the number format, starting value, position, and size.
  2. Confirm the final page order and count.
  3. Upload the PDF, choose how the page numbers should appear, apply the numbering, and download the updated document.
  4. Review the first, middle, and last numbered pages.

Number pages only after the document order is final

Reorder, remove, or rotate pages before adding numbers. Otherwise a later structural change can make printed page labels disagree with the reading sequence.

Choose the starting number, label, position, and text size, then inspect pages with busy headers or footers for overlap.
